Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust Continues To Give

Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust continues to Give
The Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust has made a $50,000 donation to the Pink Finss Charity to support the work that the Pink Finss is doing in the Hawkesbury Community.  Sharing similar objectives both the Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust and the Pink Finss Charity were established to cater for those in the Hawkesbury community diagnosed with cancer and now that the Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust has achieved their goal of opening an oncology unit in the Hawkesbury, it is wanting to help the Pink Finss make a difference on the ground to those in the community who are affected by cancer.

“What we love about the Pink Finss is that they make a real difference to the everyday stresses of life when a family receives a cancer diagnosis.  They make a practical difference by offering things like cleaning, gardening and meals, but they also make a difference emotionally by holding monthly support group meetings which are like no other in the Hawkesbury.  The Pink Finss offer a personal service to the whole family, not just the woman diagnosed, and that is what sets them apart from other charities” said Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust Trustee, Vivienne Leggett.

According to Pink Finss Founder Jodie Amor this donation will go a long way to helping a lot of families in the Community.  “We have been providing this service to the Hawkesbury for almost 10 years and are fully funded by the Community and our fundraising events. $50,000 will mean that we can continue to offer the services that we do, knowing that some of our major expenses are covered for the next 12 months”.    “In the last week alone we have received requests for help from 4 ladies from the Hawkesbury who have been diagnosed with cancer and we love that we are able to support these women and their families locally and make a positive impact at such a difficult time in their lives.”

Hawkesbury Living in conjunction with Hawkesbury Living Cancer Trust are also purchasing a vehicle for transportation which Pink Finss can utilise for any of their ladies who are needing transportation to and from medical appointments.
